PM Modi Chairs High-Level Meeting With Secretaries To Review National Security Preparedness

PM Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting today with Secretaries from key ministries and departments to review India’s national preparedness and inter-ministerial coordination in light of recent national security developments.

He emphasised the importance of seamless coordination among ministries and agencies to maintain operational continuity and institutional resilience during sensitive times.

During the meeting, Secretaries detailed their strategies using a Whole of Government approach. They highlighted action plans to ensure preparedness, emergency response, and strong internal communication protocols.

The Prime Minister directed Secretaries to conduct comprehensive reviews of their ministries and guarantee fool-proof functioning of essential systems.

Ministries confirmed that they had identified key actionables related to the ongoing conflict and were reinforcing their processes to handle emerging challenges.

Focus on Defence, Security, and Misinformation

Officials discussed a wide range of issues, including strengthening civil defence mechanisms, safeguarding critical infrastructure, and enhancing efforts to counter misinformation and fake news.

The Prime Minister instructed ministries to maintain close coordination with state authorities and local institutions to ensure effective ground-level execution.

The meeting brought together the Cabinet Secretary, senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, and Secretaries from critical ministries, including Defence, Home Affairs, External Affairs, Information & Broadcasting, Power, Health, and Telecommunications.

PM Reaffirms Commitment to Security

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Modi called for continued alertness, institutional synergy, and transparent communication across ministries.

He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to national security, operational preparedness, and the safety of all citizens.

Later, PM Modi took to the social media platform to highlight the government’s broader reform agenda.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Chaired a meeting to discuss the roadmap for Next-Generation Reforms. We are committed to speedy reforms across all sectors, which will boost Ease of Living, Ease of Doing Business and prosperity.”
