PM Modi To Distribute Rs 2,400 Crore Under PM-VBRY Employment Scheme

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute benefits worth nearly Rs 2,400 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) at a programme scheduled at Vigyan Bhawan.

The employment-linked initiative, introduced in August 2025, aims to boost formal job creation by encouraging both workers and employers to participate in the organised sector.

According to official figures, the scheme has already helped generate around 15 lakh employment opportunities across the country.

Under PM-VBRY, individuals entering the workforce for the first time can receive financial assistance of up to Rs 15,000.

Employers who expand their workforce are also eligible for support of up to Rs 3,000 per month for every additional employee hired.

The government has provided special incentives for the manufacturing sector, where employers can receive benefits for four years.

For businesses in other sectors, the support is available for a period of two years.

With an overall allocation of Rs 99,446 crore, the scheme is targeted at creating more than 3.5 crore jobs within two years.

Nearly 1.92 crore of these opportunities will likely benefit first-time job seekers.

The government says the programme intends to strengthen formal employment, widen social security coverage and support long-term economic growth by creating quality jobs, particularly for young people entering the labour market.
