PM Modi To Distribute Over 51,000 Appointment Letters At 20th Rozgar Mela

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth at the 20th Rozgar Mela on Saturday.

He will also address the new appointees through video conferencing as the event takes place simultaneously at 45 locations across the country, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The newly recruited candidates will join various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, including the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services and Ministry of Defence.

With the 20th Rozgar Mela, around 12.75 lakh young people will have received appointment letters through the initiative, according to the PMO.

The programme reflects the government’s focus on expanding employment opportunities for young people and encouraging their participation in the country’s development.

At the previous Rozgar Mela held in May, PM Modi distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed candidates across government departments and organisations.

Addressing new appointees, PM Modi said the world was showing interest in India’s young population and technological progress.

He said India’s partnerships with different countries aim to provide its youth with greater opportunities, employment, confidence and global exposure.

The Rozgar Mela initiative began in October 2023 and has since facilitated the distribution of around 12 lakh recruitment letters, according to reports.

Individual events have often involved tens of thousands of appointments.

The initiative is among the major direct government recruitment drives launched during PM Modi’s tenure, according to the statement.

The government’s ‘Vikas Yatra’ refers to its broader development agenda, covering policy reforms, infrastructure projects, welfare schemes and other measures aimed at national progress.
