Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Jodhpur on 25 August to mark a significant milestone in Rajasthan’s judicial history, as the Rajasthan High Court celebrates its 75th anniversary.
Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat confirmed the visit during a press briefing in Jodhpur on Monday.
Shekhawat highlighted the importance of this visit, stating, “The Rajasthan High Court is entering the Amrit Kaal phase, a pivotal moment in its legacy. The events held over the past year will culminate with Prime Minister Modi’s presence, making it a momentous occasion for the judiciary and the people of Rajasthan.”
The announcement has generated considerable anticipation among Jodhpur residents, who are eager to welcome the Prime Minister to their city.
In other matters, Minister Shekhawat expressed deep concern over the recent disturbing incidents in Jodhpur and Udaipur.
Shekhawat condemned the rape of a three-year-old girl in Jodhpur and commended the local police’s swift response.
He ensured that authorities swiftly apprehended the accused and directed them to enforce the harshest punishment. Shekhawat emphasized the need for mechanisms to deliver immediate justice in such heinous crimes.
Shekhawat also commented on the unfortunate incident in Udaipur, where a 15-year-old boy was fatally stabbed by a classmate.
He urged the community to remain calm and maintain peace, emphasizing the need for stringent action against those responsible.
Shekhawat urged the administration to take firm steps to address the tragic loss and deliver justice.
PM Modi’s visit to Jodhpur is likely to not only honor the judicial achievements of Rajasthan but also underscore the government’s commitment to law and order in the state.
