PM Modi Reviews Rs 30,000 Crore Infrastructure Projects During PRAGATI Session

PM Narendra Modi on Thursday shared details from the previous day’s PRAGATI session, during which authorities reviewed infrastructure and development projects valued at more than Rs 30,000 crore across multiple sectors nationwide.

The high-level review covered key initiatives related to railways, power infrastructure, road connectivity, ports, and Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0.

The session reflected the Centre’s continued focus on accelerating large-scale infrastructure expansion and strengthening urban sanitation systems across the country.

PRAGATI, which stands for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, functions as an integrated governance platform that enables direct monitoring of major national projects by the Prime Minister.

The mechanism aims to remove administrative bottlenecks, ensure faster implementation, and improve coordination between the Centre and state governments.

Officials stated that the platform plays a critical role in supervising infrastructure execution and public welfare initiatives of strategic national importance.

Through regular reviews, the government seeks to maintain timelines, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen accountability within departments.

The reviewed projects span sectors considered crucial for India’s economic growth and public service delivery.

Railway and road infrastructure projects aim to improve connectivity and logistics efficiency, while power sector initiatives focus on strengthening energy distribution and reliability.

Port development projects are expected to support trade expansion and maritime connectivity.

Simultaneously, Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 initiatives continue to prioritise urban cleanliness, waste management, sanitation facilities, and public health improvements.

The Prime Minister’s review also highlighted the government’s broader emphasis on infrastructure-led development as a driver of economic expansion, employment generation, and regional integration.

Officials noted that PRAGATI has emerged as an important administrative mechanism for expediting large-scale national initiatives through direct intervention and coordinated governance.
