PM Modi Receives Rousing Welcome From Thousands In Vadodara

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome from thousands of people in Vadodara on Tuesday during the ‘NaMo for Viksit Bharat’ programme.

PM Modi will launch and dedicate major infrastructure projects worth more than ₹35,000 crore. He will dedicate three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), covering 326 route kilometres and costing over ₹20,700 crore.

The Sanand-Makarpura, New Umbergaon-New Saphale and New Saphale-Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority sections will complete the WDFC’s entire route.

The corridor will provide direct freight connectivity to JNPA, helping move export-import cargo faster while cutting transit times and logistics costs. It will ease congestion on Mumbai’s railway network.

PM Modi will flag off freight train services from four locations and a new passenger service between Vadodara and Tanda Road. He will dedicate the Jobat-Tanda Road railway line, connecting remote and tribal areas of Alirajpur with the national rail network.

The Prime Minister will lay foundation stones for three railway projects spanning 329 km and costing more than ₹9,700 crore.

PM Modi will launch road projects worth around ₹1,780 crore, including highway expansion, bridges and grade-separated structures. He will inaugurate six-lane flyovers at Kandari Chokdi and Luvara Patia.

State projects worth around ₹2,600 crore include a ring road expansion, a 110 MW floating solar project and a new Vadodara Municipal Corporation office. Housing and water-supply projects will also be inaugurated.

The event saw strong public interest, with seats filled within an hour and over 42,000 people on the waiting list. Digital registration and QR-based M-Tickets will manage entry.

After Vadodara, PM Modi will travel to Mumbai to inaugurate the Global Fintech Fest 2026.
