Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda, on Saturday morning to participate in the grand ‘Namo Yuva Samabesh’ and inaugurate a series of major development projects.
He received a warm welcome from senior party leaders, officials, and thousands of supporters who lined the roads to Amalipali Ground, the venue of the programme.
Supporters waved the Tricolour and held posters of the Prime Minister as he travelled in a special carcade from the airport to Amalipali Ground.
Cultural troupes performed traditional music and dance along the two-kilometre route, showcasing the rich heritage of Western Odisha.
PM Modi greeted the public personally, stepping out of his vehicle at several points to interact with the crowd.
Ahead of the visit, PM Modi tweeted about his schedule, highlighting the inauguration of developmental works worth over Rs 50,000 crore.
India will commission over 97,500 telecom towers, built using indigenous technology, to enhance connectivity in remote, border, and Maoist-affected regions.
The government will inaugurate projects and lay foundation stones across key sectors, including rail connectivity, IIT infrastructure expansion, skill development centres, rural housing, and healthcare facilities, advancing inclusive development.
Officials stated that the Prime Minister would also address a large public gathering, emphasising the government’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
Security across Jharsuguda was significantly tightened for the high-profile visit. The Special Protection Group (SPG) took control of the venue, conducting thorough checks on all entrants.
Officials set up barricades along the route and screened vehicles, granting access only to those with SPG-authorised passes.
They deployed additional forces at the airport to ensure the smooth movement of the Prime Minister and effective crowd management.
This marks the seventh visit of PM Modi to Odisha since the BJP assumed power in the state.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister’s presence and the inauguration of multiple mega projects underline the government’s commitment to regional development, technology-driven growth, and the empowerment of rural communities.
By linking infrastructure with education, healthcare, and skill development, the initiatives aim to transform Jharsuguda into a hub of economic and social progress.
The commissioning of these projects is expected to enhance employment opportunities, boost connectivity, and provide sustainable development benefits across Odisha.
PM Modi’s visit demonstrates the administration’s focus on leveraging indigenous technologies and promoting inclusive growth, ensuring that local populations directly benefit from national development efforts.
