PM Modi Reassures NDA MPs During Breakfast Meeting As Parliament Disruptions Continue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a breakfast meeting with 45 Members of Parliament, most of whom recently switched political loyalties to join the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), reassuring them amid the ongoing disruptions during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

According to reports, the Prime Minister expressed concern over repeated Opposition protests that have prevented many MPs from participating in parliamentary proceedings.

Reassuring the lawmakers, PM Modi said the NDA stood behind them as a family and that he personally stood with every MP in the alliance.

Quoting PM Modi, NDTV reported that he told the MPs they need not worry about anyone, stressing that the NDA supports all its constituent parties and lawmakers equally.

Twenty rebel Trinamool Congress MPs who merged with the Nationalist Citizens Party of India, seven former Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs, six of whom officially joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, 20 National People’s Party (NPP) MPs, and two MPs from the Ajit Pawar-led NCP attended the breakfast meeting.

The Prime Minister also urged the MPs to study the history of Parliament, actively participate in debates, and strengthen the democratic traditions of the House while ensuring effective representation of their constituencies.

PM Modi reportedly shared his personal experiences with the lawmakers and advised them to maintain cordial and harmonious relations with Opposition members. He also cautioned them against getting caught in what he described as Delhi’s web of narratives.

The breakfast interaction came a day after PM Modi hosted 37 BJP MPs for a dinner meeting at his official residence as part of his outreach during the Monsoon Session.

The informal gathering focused on governance, parliamentary affairs and strengthening coordination within the BJP and its NDA allies.
