PM Modi Praises RSS For Century Of Service, Nation-Building and Social Harmony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) volunteers on the organisation’s Foundation Day, praising its century-long contribution to nation-building, social harmony and public service.

The RSS is observing its 101st Foundation Day on Tuesday, coinciding with Vijayadashami. In a post on X, PM Modi greeted all Swayamsevaks and paid tribute to the leaders who nurtured the organisation over the decades.

“The RSS has completed a remarkable century of service, nation-building and social harmony. Countless Swayamsevaks have worked for society with a deep sense of duty and a nation-first spirit,” the Prime Minister said.

He expressed hope that this spirit would continue to strengthen India’s development in the coming years.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also congratulated RSS volunteers, describing the organisation as the world’s largest cultural organisation dedicated to the glory of Mother India.

In his message on X, Yogi highlighted the RSS’s emphasis on national devotion, social responsibility and service. He said the organisation’s guiding philosophy treats the nation as a deity, society as a family and service as worship.

Meanwhile, RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat addressed the organisation’s annual Vijayadashami rally in Nagpur on Tuesday. He highlighted India’s growing global stature and its potential to help resolve complex international challenges through traditional wisdom.

Bhagwat emphasised that India’s ideological heritage would play a significant role in shaping its emergence as a leading global power. He further noted that the spirit of self-awareness, or swabodh, finds expression in the Preamble to the Indian Constitution.

Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founded the RSS in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on September 27, 1925. The organisation traditionally celebrates its Foundation Day on Vijayadashami according to the Hindu calendar.
