Leaders Invoke Lord Rama’s Ideals

Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended Vijayadashami greetings on October 20, wishing people joy, renewed energy and a steadfast commitment to righteousness, duty and moral values.

He invoked Lord Rama’s blessings. An animated video accompanying his message depicted Lord Rama confronting the multi-headed Ravana, symbolising the victory of good over evil.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extended his greetings, describing Vijayadashami as a celebration of righteousness over unrighteousness, truth over falsehood and good over evil. He prayed for happiness, peace, prosperity and greater social harmony.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari wished people prosperity and peace, highlighting the festival’s message of righteousness and victory over evil.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also greeted residents and devotees, urging them to draw inspiration from the ideals and values of Lord Shri Ram.

Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, celebrates Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and symbolises the triumph of dharma over adharma. The festival features prayers, religious ceremonies and the traditional burning of Ravana’s effigies across India.
