On the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt tributes to the revered sage Maharshi Valmiki, emphasizing the timeless impact of his teachings on modern India.
Valmiki Jayanti, observed on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Ashwin, honors the birth of the ancient poet and philosopher, celebrated for composing the Ramayana.
Taking to X, the Prime Minister shared an animated video to express his reverence for the sage.
In his narration, PM Modi highlighted the profound influence of Maharshi Valmiki’s ideals, noting, “The great thoughts of Maharshi Valmiki inspire crores of people and empowers them, bringing hope among lakhs and crores of Dalits.”
An his message, the Prime Minister underscored Valmiki’s emphasis on willpower, positive thinking, and service to humanity.
In the video, PM Modi stated, “It is the willpower that empowers youth to do anything they set their mind to. Maharshi Valmiki stressed on positive thinking and service motive was paramount for him.”
The Prime Minister also highlighted the sage’s enduring relevance in shaping India’s future.
PM Modi further asserted, “His thoughts and ideals serve as inspiration and direction for New India. As the guiding light for the generations to come, he has created a great epic like Ramayan.”
The Valmiki community celebrates Valmiki Jayanti, also known as Pargat Diwas, with great fervor across India, recognizing its special significance.
Maharshi Valmiki, who is believed to have lived around 500 BCE, is regarded as one of the greatest ancient poets and philosophers. His epic, the Ramayana, is not only a cornerstone of Indian literature but also a source of spiritual guidance for millions.
