PM Modi Pays Floral Tribute To Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri In Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat in New Delhi on the 157th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation.

The Prime Minister also paid homage to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji at Vijay Ghat on his birth anniversary, remembering both leaders for their service to the nation.

In a post on X, PM Modi said the lives of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji reflected simplicity, courage and dedicated service to the country.

“Paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji at Vijay Ghat,” Prime Minister Modi wrote.

PM Modi said the ideals and unwavering commitment to India’s progress shown by both leaders would continue to inspire generations and remain a guiding light for the country.

Gandhi Jayanti is observed on October 2 to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. His principles of truth and non-violence played a significant role in India’s freedom movement and continue to resonate across the world.

October 2 also marks the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji, remembered for his simplicity, courage and commitment to national service. His call of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ remains closely associated with his legacy.

The tributes at Raj Ghat and Vijay Ghat brought together the enduring legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji, whose dedication to India and principles of public service continue to inspire generations.
