Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a nationwide fundraising effort in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In a demonstration of his commitment, Prime Minister Modi himself donated ₹2,000 to the party fund.
Taking to platform X, the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction in contributing to @BJP4India, emphasizing the importance of strengthening efforts towards building a prosperous India. His tweet underscored the significance of collective participation in nation-building endeavors and encouraged individuals to engage in the “#DonationForNationBuilding” initiative through the NaMoApp.
“I am happy to contribute to @BJP4India and strengthen our efforts to build a Viksit Bharat.”
I also urge everyone to be a part of #DonationForNationBuilding through the NaMoApp! https://nm-4.com/donation” the prime minister posted.
This call for donations comes as the BJP initiates its fundraising campaign, #DonationForNationBuilding, ahead of the imminent Lok Sabha polls. Party President JP Nadda echoed these sentiments, affirming his individual support for Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India and urging party supporters to contribute through the NaMoApp.
Prime Minister Modi’s call for donations comes amidst a significant development in the political landscape: the Supreme Court’s recent unanimous verdict scrapping the electoral bonds practice. Deemed “unconstitutional” by the five-judge bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, the scheme, allowing anonymous funding to political parties, was found to violate the right to information and Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution.
At the heart of PM Modi’s call for support lies his vision of a “Viksit Bharat,” or a Developed India, by the year 2047, marking the nation’s centenary of independence. This ambitious vision encompasses multifaceted development, spanning economic growth, social advancement, environmental sustainability, and effective governance.
Introduced on December 11th last year, PM Modi’s initiative, “Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth,” aims to engage the nation’s youth in shaping the future trajectory of the country. By involving students and young adults from universities across the nation, the initiative seeks to harness their energy and enthusiasm towards the collective pursuit of realizing the vision of a Developed India.
In light of these developments, Prime Minister Modi’s call for nationwide contributions underscores the BJP’s ongoing efforts to mobilize support and resources for its electoral campaign. As the Lok Sabha elections draw nearer, the party aims to harness the collective strength of its supporters to propel its vision for a prosperous and developed India.
