Ranchi: Sunday marked the birthday of Kalpana Soren, the wife of Hemant Soren, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, and current working president of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. However, Hemant Soren is currently incarcerated in Ranchi’s Hotwar Jail due to his involvement in a land scam. On this significant day, Kalpana Murmu Soren sought blessings from Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and her mother-in-law, Rupi Soren. Earlier in the morning, she visited Birsa Munda jail to meet her husband, Hemant Soren. In a social media post, Hemant Soren reflected on his father’s service in the Indian Army and the valuable lessons of courage and truth he imparted.
Kalpana Soren announced her foray into politics via social media, citing the clamor from the people of Jharkhand and dedicated JMM supporters. She declared her intention to commence her public service from the following Monday, vowing to represent her husband, Hemant Soren, until his return. Kalpana expressed her determination to continue serving the people and sharing Hemant’s vision during his absence, believing that the same affection and support bestowed upon him would extend to her as his life partner.
These heartfelt words from Kalpana Soren are seen as her inaugural step into the political arena. Before Hemant Soren’s arrest, there were plans to position Kalpana as the Chief Minister, evident in the resignation of senior party MLA Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmed from the Gandey seat in Giridih district. However, internal opposition within Hemant’s family surfaced against this proposition following his incarceration. By introducing Kalpana directly into politics, Hemant appears to be gearing up for a protracted political struggle.
