PM Modi, Leaders Extend Birthday Wishes To Former President Ram Nath Kovind

PM Narendra Modi and several senior leaders extended warm birthday greetings to former President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday, lauding his service to the nation and commitment to public welfare.

PM Modi Commends Kovind’s Service

Prime Minister Modi took to X to wish the former President, saying, “Warm wishes to former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji on his birthday. His distinguished service to our nation and commitment to public welfare have earned him immense respect. His wisdom and guidance on various issues are deeply valued. May he be blessed with good health and a long life.”

Other Leaders Convey Their Greetings

Union Home Minister Amit Shah posted on X, “Heartfelt birthday wishes to the former President, Ram Nath Kovind. Your dedication to constitutional duties, simplicity, and integrity has inspired many social workers. I pray to God for your excellent health and long life.”

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also tweeted, “Heartfelt birthday wishes to the former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. I wish him excellent health and a long life.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings on X, saying, “Heartfelt birthday greetings to former President Ram Nath Kovind! May Lord Shri Ram bless you with a long, glorious life and excellent health.”

Born on October 1, 1945, in Paraunkh, Uttar Pradesh, Kovind served as India’s 14th President from July 25, 2017, to July 21, 2022. He was the first person from Uttar Pradesh and the first member of the BJP to hold the office.

During his tenure, Kovind addressed Parliament five times, including his first address upon taking oath and four subsequent joint sittings between 2018 and 2021. He also administered the oath of office to three Chief Justices of India and 29 other Supreme Court judges. Droupadi Murmu succeeded him in July 2022.
