CM Rekha Gupta Performs Kanya Pujan On Maha Navami; Unveils Plan For New School In Haiderpur

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta marked the occasion of Maha Navami by performing ‘Kanya Pujan’ at the Government Girls’ Secondary School in Haiderpur, highlighting the reverence for girls as symbols of divine feminine power in Indian culture.

During the event, attended by students, teachers, and local residents, CM Gupta underlined the significance of nurturing and educating girls to build a stronger society.

“Shakti is the symbol of power, and in our country, daughters and young girls have always been regarded as embodiments of the Mother Goddess,” Delhi Chief Minister stated.

She further added, “For years, we have celebrated the festival of Kanya Pujan. Even after taking charge as the Chief Minister, I firmly believe that the future of our nation and society lies in our daughters. The more love, care, and opportunities we give them, the brighter the future of the country will be.”

Making a key announcement, the Chief Minister informed attendees that the government has acquired land to establish a new school in the area.

“I want to tell all the children, from this village, nearby areas and every colony, that for years, there hasn’t been a school up to Class 12 in our area. But I have good news, we have acquired land for a school up to Class 12, and very soon, construction will begin,” Delhi CM asserted.

Greetings on Maha Navami

Earlier in the day, Gupta conveyed her greetings to citizens on the social media platform, extending her wishes on Maha Navami and paying homage to Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth manifestation of Goddess Durga.

Taking to X, she posted, “Heartfelt wishes to all of you on Maha Navami! Today is the sacred occasion for the worship of Maa Siddhidatri. She paves the way for success, prosperity, and liberation in life. The Mother annihilated the demons to establish righteousness and truth, making this day a symbol of power and devotion. By the grace of the Mother, devotees attain the eight siddhis and nine nidhis.”

The post further added, “May the blessings of Maa Siddhidatri reside within us with compassion, knowledge, and courage, and may happiness and peace prevail in society. Jai Mata Di!”

The Chief Minister also participated in the Bathukamma celebrations hosted by the Telugu Students’ Union at Ramjas College earlier on Tuesday.

She praised the Telugu community for their contributions to the capital’s growth and cultural diversity, noting that their efforts have ‘added new colours to the capital’s cultural fabric’.
