PM Narendra Modi and several Chief Ministers greeted people on the occasion of Mahanavami, the ninth day of Navratri dedicated to Goddess Siddhidatri, and prayed for the well-being, prosperity, and progress of citizens.
Prime Minister Modi took to the social media platform and extended heartfelt wishes to the nation.
Taking to X, he posted, “Heartfelt wishes to all of you on the occasion of Mahanavami! May this auspicious occasion of Navratri bring good fortune, prosperity, and success to everyone, that is our wish.”
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath also conveyed his greetings on social media.
“Heartfelt congratulations to all devotees, worshippers, and residents of the state on the auspicious occasion of ‘Mahanavami’!” he posted on X.
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami too greeted people on X.
“Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all of you on the sacred festival of the ninth day of Navratri, dedicated to the worship of Maa Siddhidatri, the presiding deity of the eight great siddhis (spiritual powers),” he said.
Mahanavami marks the worship of Goddess Siddhidatri, revered as the bestower of supernatural powers. The word ‘Siddhi’ denotes spiritual or supernatural ability, while ‘Dhatri’ signifies the giver.
According to scriptures, she fulfils divine aspirations and is one of the nine forms of Navadurga. Lord Shiva is also called Ardhanarishwara because one side of his body represents Siddhidatri. Vedic texts state that Shiva attained all siddhis by worshipping her.
