Home Minister Amit Shah also extended birthday greetings, highlighting Khattar’s contributions to the dream of housing for all and his work in the energy sector.

“You are doing remarkable work towards making Modi ji’s country self-reliant in the field of energy and realising the dream of every poor person to have their own house,” he wrote on X.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath added his voice, stating, “Heartiest birthday wishes to popular politician, Honourable Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal Khattar ji! May Lord Shri Krishna bless you with a long, healthy and glorious life.”

A Veteran Statesman

Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister for Housing and Power, is a seasoned politician. He represents the Karnal Lok Sabha constituency in Haryana.

Born on 5 May 1954 in Nindana village, Rohtak district, Khattar’s family migrated from Jhang in West Punjab after the Partition.

Before entering active politics, Khattar was a full-time pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

His political journey saw a significant milestone when he became the first BJP Chief Minister of Haryana in 2014.

He was sworn in again in 2019 after successfully forming a coalition with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP).

Dushyant Chautala became his deputy in the alliance.

A Legacy Of Governance

During his tenure as Chief Minister, Khattar focused on governance reforms, digital initiatives, and citizen welfare schemes.

His transition to the Union Cabinet in 2024 marked a new chapter in his public service.

He took charge of vital ministries, steering urban transformation and power reforms.

Khattar’s continued involvement in shaping India’s urban and energy future has won praise from across the political spectrum.

As he celebrates another milestone, national leaders and citizens alike recognise his enduring contributions to the country’s development trajectory.
