Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), in New Delhi and reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening its close relationship with the neighbouring country.
PM Modi welcomed closer cooperation with Lamichhane to build a shared and prosperous future for both countries.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Nepal remains a priority partner under India’s Neighbourhood First policy and expressed confidence in further expanding cooperation between the two countries.
PM Modi emphasised India’s commitment to working closely with Nepal’s new leadership to strengthen the longstanding partnership built on shared culture, history and strong people-to-people ties.

The meeting followed Lamichhane’s interaction with Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier this week.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Lamichhane on his party’s electoral success, and both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening India-Nepal ties.
During his visit, Lamichhane also met BJP leaders and discussed governance, party organisation and democratic participation.
The discussions highlighted the deep cultural and historical links between the two countries, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, connectivity, security and development.
