PM Modi Gujarat Visit: Vadodara, Navsari Step Up Preparations For September 8

Gujarat has begun preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit on September 8, with Vadodara and Navsari emerging as the key locations for his programmes.

The visit will likely feature the launch and inauguration of several infrastructure, railway and industrial projects.

The final itinerary has, however, not yet been formally announced.

In Vadodara, preparations are centred on Maharaja Sayajirao University, where PM Modi may address a programme at the university pavilion.

Authorities are considering a roadshow and a public meeting during his visit.

One of the major events under consideration is the inauguration of Sardardham-3 in the city.

Officials have intensified preparations in Navsari.

Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil recently reviewed arrangements with government officials, elected representatives and BJP organisational leaders.

The discussions covered security, sanitation, parking and venue management, with officials instructed to ensure smooth conduct of the proposed programme.

State Finance Minister Kanu Desai, Tribal Development Minister Naresh Patel, MLAs and senior administrative and police officials were among those involved in the review.

Patil had earlier visited the proposed venue and assessed the arrangements.

The Prime Minister is reportedly expected to inaugurate the Navsari district BJP’s new ‘Namo Kamalam’ office near Kabilpore on the National Highway.

The building reportedly spans about 40,000 square feet and was constructed at a cost of more than Rs 10 crore.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi has been involved in reviewing preparations with local representatives and officials.

The proposed roadshow, venues and other programme details will be confirmed once the Prime Minister’s final schedule is released.
