PM Modi Greets Nation On Mahashivratri, Invokes Lord Shiva’s Blessings For India’s Growth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted citizens across the country on the sacred occasion of Mahashivratri, offering prayers for the welfare of all and the continued progress of the nation.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister addressed, “To all my family members across the country, countless best wishes on Mahashivratri. My prayer is that Adidev Mahadev always keep His grace upon everyone. By His blessings, may all be blessed with well-being and may our Bharatvarsh sit enthroned at the peak of prosperity.”

Grand Celebrations Held Across India

Devotees across the country celebrated the festival of Mahashivratri with remarkable devotion and spiritual energy. From early morning, large numbers of devotees gathered at renowned Shiva temples to offer prayers and participate in sacred ceremonies.

Devotees stood in long queues for darshan, took part in special pujas and performed ritual offerings. Many observed fasts and stayed awake through the night, engaging in bhajans and chanting in praise of Lord Shiva. Ritual bathing in holy rivers also formed part of the celebrations in several regions.

State administrations implemented detailed security measures and crowd-control plans to facilitate orderly worship at major temples and pilgrimage centres.

Mahashivratri holds immense significance in Hindu tradition, dedicated to Lord Shiva and marking the divine union of Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The occasion represents devotion, self-discipline and spiritual enlightenment.

Across states, the festival united communities in prayer and celebration, reflecting India’s rich cultural and religious heritage. The Prime Minister’s message echoed this collective sentiment of faith and optimism for the country’s enduring prosperity.
