Nation Seeks Lord Shiva’s Blessings As President Murmu And Leaders Greet Citizens On Mahashivratri

On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, President Droupadi Murmu extended her best wishes to the people across the country, invoking Lord Shiva’s divine grace for the well-being and advancement of the nation.

In her message posted on X, she extended greetings to fellow citizens and expressed her hope that Mahadev’s blessings would continually guide India towards prosperity and collective progress.

She wrote, “On the sacred occasion of Mahashivratri, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all my fellow countrymen. My prayer is that the grace of Mahadev may forever remain upon us all, and that our nation may always advance on the path of progress.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also shared his message on the festival, offering prayers for the country’s growth and for Lord Shiva’s continued protection over all citizens.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh greeted devotees nationwide and prayed that Lord Mahadev would reinforce the spirit of peace and harmony around the world. He expressed confidence that Shiva’s blessings would strengthen India’s unity and security while ensuring lasting development and happiness for its people.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari marked the festival by extending sincere wishes and praying for the nation’s prosperity and welfare under the benevolent gaze of Lord Shiva.

Chief Minister Yogi Emphasises Sacred Observances

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the religious importance of the day, particularly for those gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj for the holy dip. He congratulated saints, spiritual leaders, Kalpavas participants and devotees who assembled for the ritual bathing ceremony.

He prayed that the blessings of Mahadev and the sacred Ganga would remain with all worshippers and that the spiritual efforts of seekers would bear fruit, fulfilling the aspirations of devotees.

Across the country, temples dedicated to Lord Shiva witnessed large gatherings as devotees offered prayers and performed traditional rituals. Sacred riverbanks also saw crowds taking ceremonial dips in observance of the festival.

Mahashivratri, a major festival in the Hindu tradition, honours Lord Shiva and symbolises his divine union with Goddess Parvati, representing faith, devotion and spiritual strength.
