PM Modi Extends Vijayadashami Greetings; Urges Nation To Walk Path Of Courage & Truth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended heartfelt greetings to the people of India on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami.

The festival, which marks the triumph of good over evil, is celebrated at the culmination of Shardiya Navaratri and holds deep cultural and spiritual significance across the country.

Taking to X, PM Moid posted, “Vijaya Dashami celebrates the triumph of good and righteousness over evil and falsehood. May courage, wisdom and devotion always guide our paths. Wishing my fellow Indians a happy Vijaya Dashami.”

Significance of Vijayadashami

People celebrate Vijayadashami, commonly known as Dussehra, on the tenth day (Dashami) of the Hindu month of Ashvin.

The word itself combines ‘Vijaya’ (victory) and ‘Dashami’ (tenth), denoting the triumph of righteousness over evil.

The festival commemorates Lord Ram’s victory over Ravana, symbolising the eternal victory of truth, virtue, and justice.

The day also signifies Goddess Durga’s triumph over the demon Mahishasura, reaffirming the strength of good in overcoming evil forces.

Meanwhile, across India, devotees mark the day with Ramlila performances, Ravana Dahan, and prayers seeking divine guidance for righteous living.

Leaders Share Their Wishes

Joining the Prime Minister in extending greetings, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also conveyed his best wishes on X.

“Heartfelt congratulations to all devotees and the people of the state on the great festival of Vijayadashami, the sacred symbol of the eternal victory of truth, the righteous path, values, good conduct, and eternal principles! May every heart be illuminated by the light of righteousness and truth through the grace of Lord Shri Ram,” he posted.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also shared her message, highlighting the festival’s deeper message of moral strength and truth.

She stated, “This sacred day of Dussehra reminds us that in life, adherence to truth, righteousness, and eternal values is the true victory. This festival inspires all of us to walk the path of dharma, duty, and humanity. May Lord Shri Ram’s blessings bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to every home.”

Vijayadashami stands as a timeless reminder of the moral and spiritual principles that guide Indian civilisation.

Through his greetings, PM Modi further urged citizens to embrace the festival’s message — to pursue courage and wisdom, uphold truth, and dedicate their lives to righteous action.

Moreover, as the nation celebrates the festival with devotion and joy, the Prime Minister’s message reaffirms the enduring relevance of Vijayadashami as a symbol of hope, unity, and the ultimate victory of good over evil.
