PM Modi To Join East Delhi’s Dussehra Festivities

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Dussehra celebrations organised by the IP Extension Ramlila Committee in East Delhi’s Patparganj area on Thursday.

Officials said the Prime Minister will arrive at the venue around 6 PM and take part in the symbolic Ravana Dahan ceremony, representing the triumph of good over evil.

The festival of Vijayadashami, celebrated at the conclusion of Navratri, symbolises Lord Ram’s victory over Ravana and serves as a reminder of the eternal victory of righteousness and truth.

This year’s event continues PM Modi’s long-standing tradition of attending Dussehra festivities in the national capital.

In 2024, he joined the celebrations at the Luv Kush Ramlila held at Delhi’s historic Red Fort grounds, alongside President Droupadi Murmu.

The leaders jointly ignited the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhkaran with symbolic arrows.

During his address at the time, PM Modi reflected on the festival’s timeless message, urging citizens to uphold courage, peace, and truth in their lives.

In 2023, he participated in the Dussehra celebrations at the DDA Ground in Dwarka, Delhi, where he was accorded a traditional welcome before the much-anticipated Lanka Dahan ritual.

On that occasion, the Prime Minister encouraged people to adopt ten pledges, including supporting one underprivileged family and eradicating social ills such as casteism and regionalism.

Message of Unity and Righteousness

PM Modi often uses his Dussehra addresses to emphasise moral values and social harmony.

Beginning his speeches with chants of ‘Siyavar Ramchandra Ki Jai’, he extends greetings on Navratri and Vijayadashami, calling upon citizens to embrace the spirit of Ram Rajya—a society based on justice, equality, and compassion.

He also highlights the significance of Shastra Pooja on Vijayadashami, stating that Indian tradition reveres weapons not for aggression or conquest but for protecting the nation and preserving peace.

Authorities have made elaborate arrangements at the IP Extension grounds, expecting a large turnout for the Prime Minister’s visit.

Furthermore, Authorities have heightened security measures across the venue to ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities.

The Dussehra celebration at IP Extension promises to be a grand affair, combining devotion, cultural vibrancy, and a reaffirmation of India’s timeless values of truth, harmony, and the ultimate triumph of good over evil.
