PM Modi Expresses Sorrow Over Passing Of Renowned Singer Pandit Chhannulal Mishra

Padma Bhushan awardee and celebrated classical singer Pandit Chhannulal Mishra passed away at the age of 89 on Thursday at 04:15 AM in Mirzapur.

The veteran musician had been unwell for some time, and doctors admitted him last month to Sir Sunder Lal Hospital at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi after he experienced chest problems and a minor heart attack.

During his hospital stay, doctors moved him to the ICU and diagnosed him with a chest infection and anaemia. They discharged him a few days ago after he showed signs of recovery.

Authorities will bring Pandit Chhannulal Mishra’s mortal remains from Mirzapur to Varanasi by 11 AM so people can pay their last respects. Family members will conduct the final rites in Varanasi at 7 PM.
