Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended heartfelt birthday wishes to Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy, hailing him as a grassroots leader playing a pivotal role in strengthening critical sectors of the Indian economy.
Modi’s message, shared on X (formerly Twitter), highlighted Reddy’s contribution to building a self-reliant India through leadership in the coal and mines ministry.
“Birthday greetings to Shri Kishan Reddy Garu. A grassroots leader, he is at the forefront of strengthening the coal and mines sector, which are important to build a self-reliant India. Praying for his long and healthy life,” the Prime Minister posted.
Alongside PM Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who also serves as the national president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), conveyed his greetings.
He wished Reddy a long, healthy, and happy life, applauding his commitment to public service.
Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, a fellow BJP leader from Telangana, also sent warm wishes, expressing hope that Reddy continues to serve the people with dedication.
Several BJP leaders from across Telangana, including MPs, MLAs, and party office bearers, joined in the celebrations.
Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, BJP MP from Chevella, posted, “Wishing Union Minister Kishan Reddy Garu a very happy birthday. Wishing him health, happiness, and success, and many more years of public service.”
Other national leaders, such as Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Union Minister of State George Kurian, also extended their greetings.
G Kishan Reddy, a senior BJP figure in Telangana, is a second-term Member of Parliament from Secunderabad.
He was first inducted into the Union Cabinet in 2019 as Minister of State for Home, later elevated to Cabinet rank in 2021 with portfolios of tourism, culture, and the development of the northeastern region.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Reddy retained the Secunderabad seat, defeating Congress candidate Danam Nagender by approximately 50,000 votes.
His leadership helped the BJP increase its Telangana seat tally to eight, leading to his reappointment in Modi’s Cabinet.
As Reddy turns 64, his consistent service to the people of Telangana and his growing national stature have been widely recognised.
The flood of greetings on his birthday not only celebrated a personal milestone but also acknowledged his crucial role in India’s development journey.
