PM Narendra Modi held a phone conversation with PM Rob Jetten and conveyed satisfaction over the growing relationship between India and the Netherlands.
He shared on X that the interaction with the Dutch Prime Minister was productive and focused on enhancing cooperation in several areas.
The two leaders explored opportunities to deepen ties in key sectors such as semiconductors, green hydrogen, large-scale water management, and talent mobility. They acknowledged the significant scope for collaboration in innovation-driven and sustainable industries.
Semiconductors emerged as a major point of discussion, in line with India’s efforts to strengthen domestic manufacturing capacity.
The Netherlands’ expertise in advanced chip technology positions it as a valuable partner in this domain. Green hydrogen was identified as a priority area, aligning with India’s clean energy goals and the Netherlands’ strengths in sustainable technologies. Both sides noted that joint efforts could accelerate progress in this field.
The Prime Minister highlighted cooperation in large-scale water projects, drawing on Dutch expertise in flood control and water systems. Such collaboration is expected to support India’s goals of water security and climate resilience.
Talent mobility was also discussed, with a focus on enabling greater exchange of professionals and students. This step aims to strengthen innovation and deepen people-to-people ties.
The two leaders also discussed the situation in West Asia and broader global developments. PM Modi reiterated the need for restoring peace and stability through dialogue and diplomatic efforts.
