PM Modi Copied Vajpayee’s Words Into His Diary: The Story Behind The Tribute

On the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the social media platform Modi Story shared a video highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s enduring admiration for his mentor through a little-known incident from Punjab.

The account, known for documenting stories from PM Modi’s life, recalled an episode linked to the Namdhari Shaheedi Smarak, where Vajpayee had visited in 1996 and written a thoughtful message in the visitors’ logbook.

According to the video, when PM Modi later visited the same memorial, his first request was to see the original note written by Vajpayee. After reading it, he copied every word into his personal diary.

Punjab BJP leader Naresh Garg, who narrated the incident, said PM Modi regarded Vajpayee’s words as a lifelong source of inspiration and believed his ideals should guide future generations.

The anecdote has resurfaced as the nation remembers Vajpayee’s political legacy and his contribution to governance and public life.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi paid homage to Vajpayee on his death anniversary, remembering him as an extraordinary statesman whose leadership and vision strengthened India.

In his message, the Prime Minister said, “Earlier this morning, paid homage to Atal Ji at Sadaiv Atal. His role in India’s progress is unparalleled!”

The tribute and the resurfaced anecdote together underscored the lasting influence Vajpayee continues to have on India’s political leadership.
