As Tamil megastar Rajinikanth continues his recovery in a Chennai hospital, a call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered a glimmer of reassurance to his family.
Rajinikanth’s wife, Latha, received the inquiry about her husband’s well-being, a gesture that has resonated with fans across the nation.
K Annamalai, the President of the Tamil Nadu BJP, took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to share this heartwarming interaction.
Posting a picture of Rajinikanth with PM Modi, he wrote, “Our Hon. PM Thiru @narendramodi avl spoke telephonically to Smt. Latha Rajinikanth avl today to inquire about the health of our Super Star Thiru @rajinikanth avl. Hon PM was informed about the well-being of Thiru Rajinikanth avl post-surgery & Hon PM wished him a speedy recovery.”
Rajinikanth recently underwent an elective procedure to address swelling in a blood vessel connected to his heart, successfully placing a stent in the aorta.
Fortunately, reports indicate that he is stable and doctors will discharge him from the hospital in the coming days.
Additionally, a specialized medical team conducted the procedure in a catheterization lab.
Prior to his hospitalization, the iconic actor made headlines at the audio launch of his much-anticipated film, ‘Vettaiyan’.
The event showcased his captivating dance moves, delighting fans and attendees alike.
‘Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, marks an exciting reunion between Rajinikanth and legendary Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan after a 33-year hiatus.
Their last collaboration, ‘Hum’, released in the 1990s, became a cultural phenomenon.
The upcoming film is likely to hit theaters on 10 October, generating immense anticipation among fans.
