PM Modi stated that India, as the world’s largest democracy, is a fitting host for the P20 Summit, emphasizing the importance of parliaments worldwide as places for debate and deliberation. He noted the rich legacy of India’s thousands of years of debates and discussions, tracing back to ancient texts.
Addressing the current global situation, the Prime Minister stressed that a world marked by conflicts and confrontations cannot provide solutions to contemporary challenges. He called for unity, peace, and development, emphasizing the importance of moving forward together.
Regarding the issue of terrorism, PM Modi acknowledged India’s long-standing struggle against cross-border terrorism, recounting the terrorist attack on the Indian Parliament approximately 20 years ago.
