Prime Minister Narendra Modi replied to Sanjay Raut’s ‘bury Modi’ jibe in his address during the Nandurbar rally in Maharashtra. He addressed Sanjay Raut and his Shiv Sena faction as ‘Nakli’ Shiv Sena. In the same line of context, PM Modi also mentioned the Congress party for its ‘Modi teri kabar khudegi’ (Modi, your grave will be dug). Bringing out similarities in the above two statements, PM said that the two have taken care of their vote bank and that the people who comprise their voters must be happy about their comment.
Modi said, “People from ‘Nakli Shiv Sena’ want to bury me alive. And on the other hand, there is Congress which says, Modi, your grave will be dug…”
He took the jibe to next level and said, “Even while abusing me, these people give special attention to their vote bank.”
The attack on Congress did not end here, PM then targeted the opposition party on development and said that hence they have opened “jhooth ki factory” (factory’ of lies) in this election.
PM Modi in the rally also said that he feels that serving Adivasis, for him is like serving his own family. “For me, serving the deprived and Adivasis is just like serving my own family. I don’t belong to a royal family like that of Congress, I come from a humble background. And I have grown up in poverty. I can completely understand what sufferings feel like. I can understand your pain,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister further said that Congress’ condition is like ‘chor machaye shor’ regarding the reservation.
“Congress knows that they can’t compete with Modi on development and hence they have opened a ‘factory’ of lies in this election… Regarding reservation, Congress’ condition is like ‘chor machaye shor’. Religion-based reservation is against the principle of Babasaheb Ambedkar. It’s like stabbing at the back of those who framed the Constitution, it’s a sin that can’t be measured,” he added.
Maharashtra, boasting 48 Lok Sabha seats, stands as the second-largest influencer in the lower house of Parliament. The polling unfolds across five phases: April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20.
In the 2019 elections, the BJP claimed the top spot with 23 seats, trailed by its partner Shiv Sena (before the split) securing 18 seats. Meanwhile, the Nationalist Congress Party (before the split) and Congress managed to clinch four and one seat respectively.
