PM Modi Birthday: Amit Shah To Flag Off Vadnagar-Varanasi Bike Yatra

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Gujarat’s Vadnagar on Thursday to flag off the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Vadnagar to Varanasi’ Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra as part of the nationwide campaign marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and 25 years in public life.

Shah will flag off the yatra at 9:30 AM from Vadnagar, PM Modi’s birthplace.

A parallel ‘Varanasi to Vadnagar’ yatra will begin at the same time from Varanasi, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expected to attend.

The twin yatras will form a key part of the BJP’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ and will cover around 40,000 km across 193 districts and nearly 1,159 villages in 10 states.

Around 1,000 young participants will take part, with 500 riders travelling from each city.

The yatras will, however, conclude on October 7, marking PM Modi’s 25 years in public life.

In Vadnagar, Shah will begin the day with a Maha Aarti at Sharmishtha Lake, followed by a padayatra, the bike yatra flag-off and a cleanliness campaign at Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other BJP leaders are expected to participate.

The campaign will feature tree plantation, cleanliness drives, health initiatives and water conservation activities.

A ‘Jal Kalash Rath’ will carry water from the Narmada, Sabarmati, Mahi, Tapi and other rivers to Vadnagar.

After a Jalabhishek at Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple, the kalash will travel to Varanasi for a similar ritual at Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

Shah will later attend programmes in Ahmedabad, including prayers at Shri Jagannath Temple and the ‘Aashirwad No Deewo’ programme at Kankaria Lake.
