PM Modi Asserts Kerala Is Poised For Political Shift, Criticises LDF And UDF

PM Narendra Modi remarked that Kerala is showing clear indications of a political transition while addressing a public meeting in Palakkad. He suggested that the prevailing mood reflects a growing appetite for change among voters.

The Prime Minister’s visit was part of a broader campaign effort across the state, which also featured a roadshow in Thrissur later in the day. The programme aimed to expand the reach of the BJP-led NDA in Kerala.

At Kotta Maidan, PM Narendra Modi stated that the NDA is gaining traction among key groups, including young people, women, and farmers. He credited this trend to public support, grassroots work, and the commitment of party members.

The Prime Minister positioned the NDA as an emerging alternative in a state historically governed by the Left Democratic Front and United Democratic Front. He indicated that the electorate is increasingly open to new political choices.

In his address, PM Modi also alleged that Kerala has remained influenced by “self-interested politics” under the alternating rule of the two fronts. He argued that this cycle has not delivered meaningful progress for the public.

Emphasis on Development-Oriented Governance

Highlighting the NDA’s approach, the Prime Minister spoke about a governance model focused on growth, opportunity, and long-term planning. He maintained that Kerala’s progress depends on adopting a fresh policy direction.

PM Narendra Modi reiterated that the BJP seeks to transform Kerala into a developed state. He outlined goals centred on economic progress, enhanced opportunities, and improved living standards for future generations.

The speech also underscored the NDA’s message that Kerala is ready to move beyond its traditional two-front political framework. It aimed to strengthen the alliance’s position as a credible alternative ahead of the elections.

The Prime Minister reached Palakkad by helicopter and proceeded through a roadshow route, where large crowds had gathered to welcome him. Senior BJP and NDA leaders also attended the event.

After the rally, PM Modi left for Thrissur to carry forward the campaign, signalling sustained efforts to expand the NDA’s presence in the state.
