PM Modi Arrives In Poland, Marks First Visit by Indian Prime Minister In 45 Years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Poland on Wednesday evening. He is the first Indian prime minister in 45 years to visit the European nation, following Morarji Desai.

“Landed in Poland. Looking forward to the various programmes here. This visit will add momentum to the India-Poland friendship and benefit the people of our nations,” Modi wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reported that Modi received a ceremonial welcome at Warsaw’s airport.

Modi’s agenda in Poland includes meetings with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda. He will also engage with the Indian diaspora, lay a wreath at the Jam Saheb of Nawanagr memorial, and visit the Battle of Monte Cassino monument and the Kolhapur Memorial.

In a statement before his departure, Modi called Poland India’s “key economic partner in Central Europe.” He added, “Our mutual commitment to democracy and pluralism strengthens our relationship. I look forward to advancing our partnership with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda.”
