Parliament Security Breach Case Updates: According to media reports, Delhi police have filed a complaint against the suspects in the parliament security breach case under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), an anti-terror statute. According to sources cited by news agency, the Delhi Police Special Cell will also look into a number of other issues, such as the four accused’s educational history, their participation in previous protests or rallies, and whether they visited Parliament before to Wednesday’s incident. It further stated that the investigation will center on looking at their past and present social media activity.
According to ANI, which cited Delhi police, police have opened a case at the Parliament Street police station under Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 452 (trespassing), Section 153 (want only giving provocation with an intent to cause riot), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servants from discharge of his duty), and 16 and 18 sections of UAPA.

Sources stated that four persons had been arrested, one Vicky and his wife were being questioned, and the case was being moved to the Special Cell for more investigation. According to police sources who spoke with media, Lalit Jha, one of the four accused in the Parliament security breach case, emailed a video of the incident to his NGO partner after it happened.
This follows the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Wednesday directive to launch an investigation into the security breach in Parliament. Under the direction of Anish Dayal Singh, DG, CRPF, an inquiry committee including specialists and representatives of various security agencies has been formed. The panel will investigate the causes of the Parliament’s security breach, pinpoint the failures, and suggest additional measures.
