On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country must view its success in tackling Naxalism and poverty as the beginning of a larger national mission, not the end of its journey.
Addressing security personnel during his Diwali visit to Bastar, Chhattisgarh, PM Modi said the achievements made so far should encourage the country to pursue more ambitious goals.
Prime Minister Modi described the progress against Maoist violence and poverty as a stepping stone towards fulfilling aspirations that generations of Indians had carried, including those of freedom fighters, soldiers who sacrificed their lives at the borders and security personnel who fought Naxalism and terrorism.
Recalling the spirit of national service, the Prime Minister said the focus must now shift towards dedicating one’s life to taking India to greater heights.
PM Modi expressed confidence in the country’s ability to fulfil its commitments, citing the removal of Article 370, the construction of household toilets and the expansion of vaccination programmes as examples of goals achieved through collective efforts.

The Prime Minister placed his confidence in the armed forces, young people and citizens, saying their dedication and hard work would provide the foundation for a developed India.
Concluding his address, PM Modi acknowledged the sacrifices made by security personnel and extended his Diwali greetings to those serving the nation.
