Operation Sindoor Timeline Clear, Says Jaishankar; Pakistan Not Notified Before Strikes

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday hit back at the Congress over its claims about Operation Sindoor. He rejected the charge that India alerted Pakistan before launching the strikes on May 7.

The operation had targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Jaishankar clarified the sequence of events at a Consultative Committee Meeting of the Ministry of External Affairs.

He said, “Pakistan was informed 30 minutes after terror hubs were struck.”

He explained that the Foreign Secretary received a briefing after the strike.

The Press Information Bureau issued a statement soon after. Then, the Director General of Military Operations shared details with his Pakistani counterpart.

“This is a dishonest misrepresentation of facts,” said Jaishankar.

He referred to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks that India’s foreign policy had ‘collapsed’ and that the country was now ‘hyphenated with Pakistan’.

Operation Sindoor was India’s precise and controlled response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which killed 26 civilians.

Indian forces destroyed nine terror launchpads in a 25-minute operation. The strike used precision-guided weapons and drone support.

Pakistan responded with drones and artillery to hit Indian cities. Indian forces successfully repelled all attacks.

India and Pakistan agreed to stop military action on May 10. But Pakistan broke the understanding within hours.

India warned of strong retaliation if it happens again.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi displayed satellite images of the destroyed camps in his Mann Ki Baat address.

He called the strikes ‘a picture of India’s resolve, courage, and changing mindset’.

India also sent seven all-party teams to major world capitals. These teams explained India’s stand on cross-border terrorism and Operation Sindoor.

India made it clear that terrorism will not go unanswered. Lies will not shape the narrative.
