Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday publicly admitted that he made ‘mistakes’ by leaving the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) twice.
He assured that he would not repeat this political flip-flop.
Speaking at a Cooperative department event at Bapu Auditorium, CM Nitish, in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, said, “I made a mistake twice, but this will not happen again.”
His statement marks a significant reaffirmation of his commitment to the NDA.
CM Nitish credited the cooperative sector for Bihar’s progress, highlighting its benefits under Amit Shah’s leadership as Union Cooperation Minister.
He said, “Bihar has benefited from multiple schemes launched during Amit Shah’s tenure, and these have helped people nationwide.”
Taking a swipe at former Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, he accused them of stalling Bihar’s development before 2005.
He claimed that under their rule, people feared stepping out of their homes after evening, contrasting it with the improved law and order under his governance.
The CM also hailed the Jeevika scheme as a major achievement, stating that its success in Bihar inspired the Congress-led UPA government to implement the Ajeevika scheme across India.
He emphasized that Bihar’s women empowerment model through self-help groups has gained national recognition.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the chief guest at the event, inaugurated multi-crore development projects in Bihar.
He announced that the NDA would contest the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections under Nitish Kumar’s leadership.
He urged voters to give NDA a strong mandate, promising continued development and stability in Bihar.
The event saw the presence of Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with senior NDA leaders.
