In connection with a terror conspiracy case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raids more than six locations in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Based on particular inputs, several NIA teams conducted coordinated raids at different Bengaluru locations alongside the state police force.
Raids on the homes of suspects who are linked to terrorism and who are acting under the guidance of their foreign handlers are still going on. Additionally, the suspects had actively participated in a number of terrorist endeavors.
The action was taken a few days after the NIA detained 15 members of the terror group on December 9 during numerous, extensive raids throughout Maharashtra and Karnataka as part of a massive crackdown on the group.
In this instance, the 15 accused were taken into custody by the NIA teams after they descended on up to 44 locations in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Thane, Padgha-Borivali, Pune, Maharashtra, and Mira Road. The accused were charged with inciting terror and terror-related acts and activities of the banned organization.
Massive sums of unrecorded money, weapons, knives, incriminating papers, cellphones, and other electronic devices were taken during the raids, which were carried out as part of the NIA’s continuous efforts to thwart and destroy the attempts of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) to commit violent crimes, murder, and cause the deaths of innocent people.

The accused, who are all members of the ISIS Maharashtra module, were operating out of Padgha-Borivali, where they had hatched their plot to incite terror and commit violent crimes throughout India, according to additional information gleaned from NIA investigations. The accused, following the path of violent Jihad, Khilafat, and ISIS, had intended to disrupt the nation’s peace and communal harmony as well as wage war against the Indian government.
According to preliminary inquiries, the detained suspects identified the rural Thane village of Padgha as a “liberated zone” and referred to it as “Al-Sham.” To bolster the Padgha base, they were encouraging impressionable Muslim youth to move from their current residence to Padgha.
Administering the ‘bayath’ (oath of allegiance to the Khalifa of ISIS) to individuals joining the banned organization was Saqib Nachan, the primary accused and the leader and head of the ISIS module.
Along with the names Islamic State (IS), Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Daish, Islamic State in Khorasan Province (ISKP), ISIS Wilayat Khorasan, and Islamic State of Iraq and Sham Khorasan (ISIS-K), ISIS is a Global Terror Organization (GTG). The group has been establishing localized ISIS cells and modules throughout India’s states in order to expand its terror network there.
In an effort to thwart the organization’s violent and horrible anti-Indian agenda, the NIA has also carried out extensive raids in recent months and busted various ISIS modules by apprehending multiple terror operatives in the ISIS terror conspiracy case.
In pursuit of this goal, the agency filed a complaint against the ISIS Maharashtra module earlier this year. Since then, it has taken decisive steps to dismantle the numerous ISIS networks and modules that are active in the nation.
