National Testing Agency (NTA) has filed its reply as the agency recieved notice from the Supreme Court in the NEET-UG 2024 scam case. NTA has said in its reply that it is not appropriate to cancel NEET-UG 2024, because if the exam is canceled then it will be a betrayal of promising students.
The agency has filed an affidavit in the NEET exam scam case.
The case is scheduled on July 8 before the bench of Supreme Court which include Chief Justice of India Justice D Y Chandrachud.
In a reply, NTA noted that all necessary steps were taken as soon as the information about the paper leak was received. The agency has said that there have been complaints of NEET paper leak in many states, and hence the CBI is investigating the matter. The National Testng Agency has also said that arrests have also been made in the cases related to it and the search for the organized gang that leaked the paper as well as its kingpin is going on continuously.

NTA has also submitted that a high level committee has been constituted by the Ministry of Education to improve NTA and give suggestions to conduct the examinations properly.
K Radhakrishnan Committee
This committee is headed by former ISRO Chairman Dr. K Radhakrishnan, who will submit the report to the ministry in two months. Investigation is going on continuously to find out the organized gang and the kingpin behind the paper leak. Citing the recently implemented Public Examination Act, the government said that in future the government has brought strict law so that strict action can be taken against the culprits in such cases.
Many students, coaching institutes have filed a petition in the Supreme Court against NEET UG Result 2024. So far about 26 petitions have been filed in which many petitions have also been filed by NTA. These petition filed in different states across the country, has been demanded to be transferred to the Supreme Court.
In some of the petitions, the petitioners have alleged paper leak, while some have pleaded to cancel the entire examination and re-conduct the medical entrance examination. At the same time, some petitioners have demanded an inquiry into the operation of NTA.
The NTA conducts NEET-UG for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions. This year, the exam was held on May 5 at 4750 centers, in which about 24 lakh candidates appeared. Due to allegations of irregularities including question paper leak, protests took place in many cities and opposition parties raised the issue.
