NDA Has Already Secured Over 270 Seats in First Four Phases of Lok Sabha Polls: HM Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted on Sunday that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has already secured more than 270 seats in the first four phases of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

“NDA has already crossed 270 seats in the first four phases of elections. I also want to tell you that the parties of Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are not even getting 4 and 40 seats, respectively,” Shah declared during a rally in support of NDA candidates Sanjay Jaiswal and Sunil Kumar. Jaiswal is contesting on the BJP ticket from West Champaran, and Kumar is contesting from Valmiki Nagar on the JD-U ticket.

Shah accused leaders of the INDIA bloc of misleading the public about reservations and potential changes to the Constitution.

“The leaders of the INDI alliance claim that if NDA crosses 400 seats, we will change the Constitution and nullify reservations. PM Modi had a complete majority for the last 10 years and still did not change the Constitution. Lalu Prasad Yadav says he will give 100 percent reservation to Muslims,” Shah said.

He criticized Lalu Prasad Yadav for aligning with Congress, which he claimed has implemented Muslim reservations in Karnataka and Telangana.

“I want to ask Lalu Prasad Yadav whose reservation will he cut—Dalits, Tribals, or backward classes—to give to Muslims,” Shah questioned.

He further alleged that Congress has historically opposed the backward caste, citing that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi shelved the Mandal Commission, and Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi opposed it as well.

“Congress has always opposed the backward caste, while Prime Minister Modi has worked to provide democratic rights to the backward and extremely backward communities,” Shah said.

He also accused INDIA bloc leaders of neglecting the poor, contrasting this with Modi’s achievements.

“PM Modi provided tap water to 14 crore homes, delivered LPG cylinders to more than 10 crore houses, and built toilets for 12 crore houses. He also gave five kg of food grains per person to 80 crore poor people, free of cost, and provided health insurance worth Rs five lakh to the poor,” Shah stated.

Amit Shah also addressed comments from Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah regarding Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities and the status of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

“Aiyar and Abdullah said we should not talk about PoK because Pakistan has a nuclear bomb. They are afraid of Pakistan’s bomb, but India is not. Our country is strong under PM Modi’s leadership,” Shah emphasized.

He claimed that stone pelting in Kashmir has ceased and now occurs in PoK. “Previously, freedom slogans were raised in our Kashmir, but today they are being raised in PoK. Strikes used to happen in Kashmir, but now they are happening in PoK. The price of flour is rising daily in Pakistan, which lacks flour for its people, while PM Modi is providing free rations to every poor person in India,” Shah concluded.
