Pole fell on moving train, two passengers serious; Raipur DRM gave instructions for investigation

Raipur : A major accident was averted on Sunday between Raipur-Urkura on Mumbai-Howrah route, where a pole on the track side of Shalimar Kurla Express fell. During this time the train was running. Six people were also injured after being hit by the pole and are undergoing treatment.

At the same time, DRM of Railway Center has given instructions for investigation regarding this entire matter. According to the information received from Raipur DRM, on Sunday, two nearby trains including train S6 of Shalimar Express (train number 18030) going from Kolkata to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai) -An electric pole fell on three AC coaches between Raipur and Urkura.

Six people were injured in the accident, out of which the condition of two is said to be critical. The injured include two people from West Bengal, one from Chhattisgarh and a railway staff.

Among these, Somil Mandal, West Bengal (30), Narayan Bagh, West Bengal, railway sweeper Dewari Dhivar (30), Jaijapur (30) have been hospitalised. According to Railways, B-4, B-5, B-6, S-6, S-7 coaches of Shalimar Kurla Express have been damaged in this accident. At present, DRM Raipur has given instructions for investigation of the entire incident as well as better treatment of the injured passengers.
