Mumbai-Ranchi IndiGo Flight Passenger Vomits Blood, Dies In Nagpur After Unscheduled Landing

An unscheduled stop at Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur was conducted by an IndiGo Airline flight from Mumbai to Ranchi on Monday evening when a passenger experienced a medical emergency, an official said. D. Tiwari, a 62-year-old male passenger, was pronounced dead after being taken to a government medical college in a hurry.

A passenger on a Mumbai-Ranchi flight dies

Aejaz Shami, DGM, Branding and Communications of KIMS Hospital in Nagpur, revealed that the passenger had CKD and tuberculosis and had vomited blood on board.
He was sent to the KIMS hospital dead. His remains were brought to the Government Medical College and Hospital for additional treatments, according to a statement from Shami.
The passenger started throwing up blood at around 8 o’clock. The pilot in charge accepted a request to land in Nagpur.

An onboard medical issue caused IndiGo aircraft 6E 5093, which was headed from Mumbai to Ranchi, to be diverted to Nagpur, according to a statement from the airline. After being unloaded, the passenger was sent directly to the hospital to receive more medical care. Sadly, the passenger did not make it. His family and loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers.

Pilot with IndiGo perishes in Nagpur

The event occurred a few days after an IndiGo pilot passed away while being transported to the hospital after passing out at a boarding gate at Nagpur airport.
Captain Manoj Subramanyam (40), the pilot, was scheduled to fly the Nagpur-Pune 6E135 trip at roughly 1 p.m. on Thursday of last week but passed out around 12.05 p.m.According to early accounts, the pilot passed away from “sudden cardiac arrest,” according to Shami.

The pilot fainted and was given CPR by an emergency team, according to airport director Abid Ruhi, but he did not respond and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The previous day, a senior pilot for Qatar Airways passed away after a heart attack while boarding an aircraft from Delhi to Doha as a passenger. He had previously worked for Alliance Air and SpiceJet.
