Meerut: Dr. Laxmikant Vajpayee, a Member of Parliament, lashed out at police on Friday for their lack of inquiry into the Rs 350 crore supply department fraud. He went to the police station, scolded the investigator, filed a complaint with the SSP, and requested he perform a proper investigation. Dr. Laxmikant Bajpai, former BJP state president and MP, filed a complaint against the Meerut supply department for ration fraud. When examined, the extent of the scam escalated to Rs 350 crore. Only a few days ago, the police arrested Shahnawaz, the culprit in this fraud. Even after this, MP Laxmikant Vajpayee visited Civil Lines police station on Friday to denounce the police’s inadequate inquiry. He phoned the investigator who was looking into the supply department swindle.

He said that the investigator sent Shahnawaz, the Rs 350 crore fraud culprit, to jail after setting him up and that he is not even being held in custody. The MP made significant claims against the investigator and reported the incident to the SSP. SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan informed the MP that he would take the culprits into custody as soon as possible and recover the false documents. According to the MP, Shahnawaz, a computer operator in the supply department, stole Rs 350 crore. There are 20 cases filed against the accused.
