Mihir Shah, accused in a BMW hit-and-run case, was arrested in Shahpur, Maharashtra, after evading authorities for three days. The incident, which occurred on Sunday morning, involved a BMW car allegedly driven by Shah, the son of a Shiv Sena leader, that struck and killed a woman.
The victim, Kaveri Nakhwa, 45, was riding with her husband Pradeep on Annie Besant Road around 5:30 am when the luxury car collided with their two-wheeler. Kaveri was dragged for 100 meters by the vehicle, suffering severe injuries. She succumbed to her injuries upon arrival at the hospital, while her husband was treated and later discharged.
Mihir Shah had been on the run following the incident. Authorities have also registered a case against his father, Rajesh Shah, and the family driver, Rajendra Singh Bidawat, for aiding his escape. The Dadar Metropolitan Magistrate court has placed Bidawat in police custody until July 11, marking his second remand. Rajesh Shah, however, secured bail on Monday.
