Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on Sunday in the Delhi liquor policy case. Now after he moved Supreme Court against the arrest, the CJI agreed to hear the matter in the afternoon today on Tuesday.
On Tuesday Manish Sisodia moved the Supreme Court, challenging his arrest by the CBI along with the manner being investigated by the agency in the alleged liquor scam case. The Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud heard the matter at 10.30 am for an urgent listing and gave his ascent to hear it at 3.50 pm today.
Sisodia was arrested The day before yesterday in connection with alleged corruption involving the formulation and implementation of the Delhi excise policy 2021-2 which has now been scrapped.
The AAP leader was sent by a special court in Delhi to a five-day CBI custody in order to get an effective interrogation done for unraveling the alleged scam. The Rouse Avenue Court also directed while sending Sisodia to the CBI remand, that during the remand period, the interrogation of the AAP leader shall be conducted under CCTV. The Court instructed the agency to go in accordance with guidelines laid down by the SC while the interrogation and the footage shall also be preserved by the CBI.

In accordance with the Rouse Court order, keeping in view the circumstances along with the facts, the accused Manish Sisodia is being remanded to a five-day CBI custody till March 4 which could facilitate further and extensive interrogation with him.
The CBI counsel told the court during the argument that the agency requires Manish Sisodia’s custodial interrogation for an effective investigation into the case. Pitching for a five days’ remand of the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, the CBI revealed that the , “Conspiracy was hatched in a very secret and planned manner.”
