#Manipur Burning: House Of The Prime Accuse Of The Manipur Incident Burnt By Agitated Mob

#Manipur Burning: The Manipur incident where two women were paraded naked by a group of men has raised public outrage. The public and especially the female part of the society is bursting in anger. The flame from the same aggression has reached the prime accused’s house. A mob comprised of the majority of women went on to burn the house of the accused. The accused is identified as Huirem Herodas Meitei. Video of the incident has surfaced over the internet.

A twitter handle shared the visuals of the burning house. The Tweet read, #Manipur incident main accused Huirem Herodas Meitei’s house burnt down by agitated people on Thursday. Manipur Police has so far arrested four accused in the horrific Manipur incident in which two women were paraded.”

4 accused arrested

In connection with the horrible viral video of naked women being paraded that emerged from Manipur on Thursday, four persons have been detained. In the viral video case, four main suspects were apprehended. Today, three additional main suspects were apprehended for the horrible crime of kidnapping and gangrape in the Nongpok Sekmai PS, Thoubal District. So far, 04 (four) people have been detained, according to Manipur Police’s tweet from yesterday. State Police tweeted that Manipur Police are conducting raids and putting in all effort to apprehend the other offenders as soon as possible.

The search is still on

Moreover, search operations and checking at nakas by the state police and central forces are being undertaken. “Search Operations and Checking at Nakas: State Police and Central forces continue to conduct search operations in the vulnerable and fringe areas of both valley and hill districts. 02 (two) arms with 05 (five) ammunitions were recovered in Imphal East District,” Manipur Police tweeted.

A total of 129 nakas and checkpoints have been constructed in various districts of Manipur in response to violations, and 657 people have been detained as a result of infractions. “A total of 129 Nakas/ Checkpoints were installed in different Districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and Police detained 657 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the State,” Manipur police tweeted. “Movement of 464 (four hundred sixty-eight) vehicles on NH-37 and 138 (one hundred thirty-eight) vehicles on NH-2 with essential items have been ensured. Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and a security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles,” Manipur police said.
