Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma received an unusual request during a public interaction when a man asked him directly for an iPhone.
Sarma later shared a video of the exchange on Instagram, where he greeted people gathered around him. A man stepped forward and made his request without hesitation. “Sir, I want an iPhone,” the man told CM Sarma.
Sarma appeared surprised and asked, “An iPhone? Do you want an old iPhone or a new one?”
The interaction then took a humorous turn. Sarma raised his hand as though he might give the man a light-hearted smack. Instead, he agreed to fulfil the request.
“Okay, we’ll get you an iPhone. You will get it,” Sarma said before moving on to greet others in the crowd.
Sarma shared the video with a brief caption: “Very clear priorities.”
The video quickly attracted attention online, with viewers amused by the man’s confidence in approaching the Chief Minister with such a direct request.
One user praised Sarma’s generosity, while another questioned whether the man would actually receive the promised iPhone. Another commenter joked about the man’s determination to ask the Chief Minister for an expensive smartphone so casually.
The light-hearted exchange has since become a talking point on social media, with many focusing on the man’s unusual request and Sarma’s playful response.
