The swearing-in ceremony taking place in Mumbai at 5:30 PM today will see the return of Fadnavis to the helm as BJP with coalition unanimously choses Devendra to represent new government.

Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde and NCP’s Ajit Pawar, who served as the CM and deputy CM in the outgoing government, will take oath as the deputy Chief Ministers.

Fadnavis secured the post following the stellar performance of BJP in recently concluded Assembly elections. In Maharashtra assembly elections Mahayuti secured landslide victory with achieving 235 seats out of total 288 constituencies. BJP registered victory on 132 seats emerging single largest party in the state. In addition Shiv Sena and NCP won 57 and 41 constituencies adding muscle to the alliance.

In contrast, MVA alliance drastically failed to maintain its hold on the state politics. The election results revealed a dismal performance by the Congress, which managed to secure only 16 assembly seats. Uddhav’s Shiv Sena fared slightly better, winning 20 seats, while Sharad’s NCP trailed behind with a mere 10 seats

Seating arrangements have been made for approximately 42,000 attendees, including 2,000 esteemed guests comprising prominent religious and political dignitaries.
