Maha Kumbh 2025: Ultra-Modern Cruises To Become A Key Attraction For Devotees

To elevate the spiritual and cultural experience of Maha Kumbh 2025, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government will introduce ultra-modern luxury cruises to transport devotees from Kashi to Prayagraj.

This innovative initiative promises to blend luxury, spirituality, and eco-conscious travel in a way never seen before at the revered Kumbh Mela.

As preparations for the grand event intensify, the Kumbh Mela Authority has submitted a proposal to the District Magistrate of Varanasi to approve these cruises, with a decision expected soon.

If green-lit, the first of these high-tech vessels, the Nishadraj cruise, will arrive in Prayagraj well ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned visit on 13 December.

The introduction of such modern facilities is a part of the Yogi government’s vision to make Maha Kumbh 2025 the most spectacular gathering of its kind, merging traditional spiritual practices with cutting-edge technology.

The Nishadraj cruise, which will likely make its debut by 5 December, will joined by two more luxurious vessels – the ‘Alaknanda’ and ‘Vivekananda’ during the Mela.

These cruises will offer an unforgettable experience to the devotees traveling to the sacred city.

The cruises, designed with air-conditioned interiors and electric engines, will be pollution-free and fully equipped with modern amenities.

The ‘Nishadraj’ cruise, in particular, is to accommodate over 100 passengers and will feature dining options, comfortable seating, and LED displays showcasing live views of iconic locations along the river, such as the Sangam and surrounding temples.

Vivek Chaturvedi, ADM Mela, has highlighted the extensive planning underway to ensure the seamless arrival and operation of these ultra-modern vessels.

“Special security arrangements, including the deployment of SPG squads, will be put in place to ensure the safety of passengers. These cruises will add a new dimension to the spiritual experience of Maha Kumbh 2025, merging luxury with devotion,” he stated.
